Mark Matlock

Mark Matlock is a Senior Fellow at Barna and the Executive Director of Urbana 2025 for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Mark is a facilitator of innovation and impact, helping organizations adapt to changing times by turning data and research into strategic action.

He is the founder of WisdomWorks, a consultancy helping churches and faith-based organizations leverage their collective wisdom and insight to innovate and accelerate. As a consultant, Mark has worked with national and international organizations such as Seed Company, Brotherhood Mutual, MOVEMENT.ORG, and Awana.

Having initiated many research projects with Barna over the last two decades, Mark’s research continues to provide insights into spiritual curiosity, emerging generations, how to cultivate faithful disciples, and knowing the pulse of your city. A regular presenter and workshop facilitator for Barna, Mark catalyzes information exchange, training and application of research findings for Barna clients.

Mark is the author of more than 20 books for teens and parents, and in 2019 co-authored Faith for Exiles: Five Ways for a New Generation to Follow Jesus in Digital Babylon with Barna Group CEO Kinnaman. Mark recently authored Faith for the Curious, which incorporates Barna research about this cultural moment.

Mark can share a keynote talk at your conference, or lead your team through a facilitated workshop, to help you steer through current challenges facing discipleship, reaching those outside of the church, and ministry to the next generation.

Mark and his wife Jade live in Texas and have two adult children.
